Foxhill Manor Proposal Photographer | A Magical Sunset Proposal in the Cotswolds
Some moments are impossible to recreate. A proposal only happens once, and being able to capture the excitement, emotions and happiness of that exact moment is what makes proposal photography so special. This Foxhill Manor proposal near Broadway in the Cotswolds was one I will never forget.
When Andreas first got in touch, he had a very special plan. He and his girlfriend Charis were visiting the Cotswolds and he wanted to surprise her with a proposal during their trip.
We spoke on the phone and planned everything together.
The location.
The timing.
The moment.
Every little detail to make sure everything felt natural and perfect.
And the chosen spot couldn't have been more meaningful.
A swing overlooking Broadway village at Foxhill Manor, surrounded by beautiful Cotswolds views, just as the sun was setting.
A Sunset Proposal at Foxhill Manor
Foxhill Manor is such a special place for a proposal.
Set within the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, the views, peaceful surroundings and golden hour sunsets create the perfect atmosphere for an intimate and romantic moment.
For Andreas and Charis, this location was everything they wanted.
A quiet moment together.
A beautiful view.
And a place where they could create a memory they would never forget.
As a Foxhill Manor proposal photographer, these are the moments I love capturing most.
The moments that are completely personal.
The moments that tell a story.
Planning A Surprise Proposal In The Cotswolds
One of my favourite parts of being a Cotswolds proposal photographer is helping couples plan these once in a lifetime moments.
Before the day, Andreas and I spoke through the whole plan.
We discussed the timing, where the proposal would happen and how I could capture the moment without Charis knowing I was there.
The goal was simple:
To make everything feel natural.
To capture the genuine reaction.
And to give them photographs that would allow them to relive the moment forever.
The Perfect Golden Hour Moment
On the day of the proposal, I arrived at Foxhill Manor an hour before Andreas and Charis began their evening stroll to scout out the location.
My job was to stay completely hidden so Charis had no idea what was about to happen.
So where did I hide?
The bushes!
Not the most glamorous part of being a proposal photographer, but absolutely worth it for the perfect photograph.
I waited patiently as they walked towards the swing overlooking Broadway.
The sunset was beautiful.
The views were incredible.
And everything was falling into place.
A Little Unexpected Twist
Of course, not every proposal goes exactly to plan.
Just as Andreas and Charis were getting closer to the swing...
Another family came along and sat there.
The exact swing.
The exact moment.
A small moment of panic!
I approached them, explained the situation and kindly asked if they would mind moving along.
Thankfully, they were absolutely lovely and were more than happy to help.
They understood how special the moment was and moved on.
I quickly returned back to my hiding spot and waited.
The Foxhill Manor Proposal
Then I saw them approaching.
Andreas and Charis walked towards the swing as the sun began setting over the Cotswolds.
I waited until I knew Andreas was ready.
Then I slowly approached and captured the moment.
And it was perfect.
Charis was completely surprised.
There were happy tears.
Huge smiles.
And even jumping up and down because she was so excited.
Those reactions are why proposal photography is so special.
You only get one chance.
One moment.
One genuine reaction.
And being able to capture that is such a privilege
Engagement Photography After The Proposal
After they had time to celebrate and enjoy being newly engaged, we took a walk through the grounds and captured some beautiful photographs together.
The sunset was incredible.
The views were out of this world.
And the whole experience felt so natural.
No awkward posing.
Just two people enjoying one of the happiest moments of their lives.
They were such a lovely couple and by the end of the evening it genuinely felt like I had made new friends.
Having their little pup Mochi there made the experience even more special.
