Proposal in Lower Slaughter, Cotswolds
Antonio reached out to me just three days before he was planning to propose to Shelley in beautiful Lower Slaughter, Cotswolds. We didn't have long, but we made it happen! We planned the whole thing together — where to meet, where I would stand, the best angles and exactly how we could make sure Shelley had absolutely no idea what was coming.
Lower Slaughter is such a beautiful little Cotswolds village, but this particular spot and little bridge meant so much to them. Shelley used to come here as a child and spend a lot of time here, and they also had one of their first dates here. It felt like the perfect place for Antonio to ask the question.
Even with all of that, Shelley had absolutely no idea the proposal was coming!
Antonio shared his location with me so I could track them as they were approaching. I had my camera hidden in my bag, ready to swing it out at exactly the right moment. They walked straight past me and onto the bridge, with Shelley leading the way.
As soon as Antonio got onto the bridge with Shelley, he asked her to turn around — which was my cue. He got down on one knee and it was BEAUTIFUL.
Happy tears, so much joy and a very nervous Antonio, but they absolutely smashed it!
Afterwards, we went for a little walk around Lower Slaughter and had a little shoot together. They were both so happy and we captured some amazing photos for them to remember such a special day.
I absolutely loved this one. There is something so special about photographing a proposal in a place that already means so much to a couple, and somehow managing to keep the whole thing a secret!
