This family photoshoot in Gloucester was one of those sessions that just felt easy from start to finish. Three generations, one beautiful home, and a sunny day in the garden… it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. We kept everything super relaxed. No big plan, no pressure — just an hour together capturing everyone as they are. That’s always the goal with family shoots like this.
There’s something really special about photographing multiple generations in one place, especially when it’s a home that clearly means a lot to everyone. The grandparents’ house had that warm, lived in feel, and the garden was the perfect setting for it all to unfold naturally. Kids running around, grandparents soaking it all in, parents trying to keep up with everything in between… all the good stuff.
Nothing forced, nothing staged.
Just real moments.
The sunshine definitely helped — soft light, blue skies, and that proper feel-good energy you can’t plan for. We moved between the house and the garden, keeping things fluid and letting the moments happen rather than trying to control them.
These are always my favourite kinds of shoots.
You don’t need a big location or anything over the top. Sometimes your own home, surrounded by the people who matter most, is more than enough.
