A Beautiful Castle Wedding for Alice & Joe in The Cotswolds


If you’re going to do a wedding, you might as well do it in a castle, right?


Alice and Joe absolutely nailed it with their Clearwell Castle wedding . Super classy, editorial, fun as hell, and full of the kind of moments that make my camera very happy. From the second I arrived at Clearwell Castle for morning prep, I knew this day was going to be special. The vibe was relaxed but buzzing. Alice wanted something elegant and timeless, but without it feeling stiff or overly posed, think editorial energy with genuine laughs, chaos in the best way, and loads of movement. My favourite kind of brief. A little extra special note. I photographed Alice’s sister’s wedding a few years back, so when Alice and Joe got engaged, they already knew they wanted me there. No awkward first meeting, no “seeing if we vibe”, just straight in, like seeing old friends again. Those are the bookings that really hit me in the feels.


Being trusted like that, again, is honestly the biggest compliment.

Getting Ready at Clearwell Castle

Alice got ready at Clearwell Castle with her girls, and honestly, it was such a joy. The rooms there are unreal, big windows, gorgeous light, historic details everywhere . It was basically a dream backdrop for documentary style wedding photography. There was music on, prosecco flowing, outfit changes already happening (yes, plural), and so much laughter it barely felt like a “getting ready” morning. Meanwhile, Joe was keeping things chilled, soaking it all in, and looking suspiciously calm for someone about to get married in front of a church full of people.

A Church Wedding Full of Feeling


After prep, we headed off to the church for their ceremony and wow! Emotional, heartfelt, and full of those little looks that say this is it. Alice walking in was one of those moments where the whole room shifted. Joe’s reaction? 10/10. Absolutely worth it. The ceremony had that perfect balance of tradition and personality. Nothing overdone, just real, meaningful, and beautifully them.

Back to Clearwell Castle for the Party


Then it was back to Clearwell Castle for the reception, and this is where the day really hit its stride.

Drinks, hugs, speeches that had everyone laughing (and a few tears... obviously), and a constant buzz of energy. Alice and Joe are surrounded by the best people, and it showed. Every corner I turned, something was happening, big laughs, quiet moments, chaos, joy, all the good stuff. And yes… more outfit changes. Iconic behaviour.

A Dancefloor That Did Not Quit


Let’s talk about that dance floor. Because when I say banging, I mean nobody held back. From the first song to the last, it was pure energy. Arms in the air, zero self consciousness, and exactly the kind of party you hope your wedding turns into. These are the moments I live for as a wedding photographer, the sweaty hugs, wild moves, terrible dancing (said with love), and memories that feel just as good years later when you look back at the photos.

Alice and Joe’s Clearwell Castle wedding was everything a wedding should be: stylish without being stiff, emotional without being heavy, and FUN without losing its class. A proper celebration, in a stunning setting, with two brilliant humans at the centre of it all.
